The Lifting Transportation and Construction Machinery Experimental Center is a major service in the professional direction of material handling machinery, construction machinery, industrial engineering, etc, an undergraduate teaching experiment center is open to the whole school.As an important part of the undergraduate teaching system of related majors, it plays a pivotal role in talent training.
Relying on the traditional advantages of the school’s mechanical discipline, the experimental center has a relatively wide range of social influence. Now it is the director of logistics engineering branch of China Society of mechanical engineering and affiliated unit of Sichuan special committee for material handling. The experimental center consists of Sichuan Key Laboratory of material handling machinery and industrial engineering laboratory. The experimental center provides experimental guarantee for undergraduate experimental teaching in industrial engineering, construction machinery, lifting and transportation machinery and other majors of our school, it also undertakes research and experiments on major scientific and technological projects in the country and Sichuan Province, strengthens scientific and technological research, products development and production experiments, and serves the country and Sichuan Province’s economic construction and social development. The experimental center carries out basic research and applied basic research, explores new fields of science and technology, cultivate high-level talents, creates conditions for the development of scientific and technological cooperation within and outside the province and internationally, and gradually represents Sichuan Province for scientific research, high-quality personnel training and high-tech and key technologies Develop advanced test bases and academic exchange centers.
The center has always attached great importance to applied research and independent innovation development research, and constantly explores new ways in the combination of production, education and research, and has made its own contributions to the development of my country's railway cargo handling mechanization and lifting and transporting machinery technology. The work done in theoretical and experimental research includes: The theoretical and applied basic research of the metal structure of the hoisting and transportation machinery and engineering machinery, the structure and test research of the box crane arm, the calculation theory and test research of the forklift and the gantry, the transmission and control technology of the engineering machinery, the reliability technology of the lifting and transportation machinery and the engineering machinery, the reliability of the human machine system, the application of the dynamic simulation of the system, etc.
So far, laboratory personnel has undertaken more than 30 national research projects, including National Natural Science Foundation of China， provincial and ministerial projects, the laboratory personnel not only has also achieved a series of scientific research achievements that has reached the international leading and advanced level, winning 27 national provincial and ministerial science and technology progress awards, but also has successfully developed a series of high-tech products urgently needed for production that has obtain significant economic and social benefits.
The existing building area of the center is more than 1,000 square meters, the fixed assets are about more than 10 million yuan. The center now has 17 staff, among them are 4 professors, 5 associate professors, 5 lecturers and 3 laboratory engineers. Most of the teachers have doctor’s degree, 12 of them have doctor’s degree and one of them is studying for doctor’s degree. Among the teaching staff, there are 2 experts enjoying special allowance from the State Council, 1 national young and middle-aged expert, 3 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions from the Ministry of railways, 3 experts with outstanding contributions from Sichuan Province, 1 academic and technical leader of Sichuan Province, 1 reserve candidate for academic and technical leader of Sichuan Province, and 2 members of Logistics Engineering Professional Committee of China Society of mechanical engineering, 3 executive directors of Sichuan Institute of material transportation engineering and 3 members of the academic committee of Sichuan Key Laboratory of material handling machinery.
