Manufacturing Engineering

Department of Manufacturing Engineering

The Department of Manufacturing Engineering (Institute of Advanced Design and Manufacturing) is mainly engaged in teaching and research in digital design and manufacturing of complex mechanical products and parts, numerical control technology and measurement, intelligent manufacturing, and non-traditional machining. It has the Modern Manufacturing Technology Experiment Center.

The Department of Manufacturing Engineering currently has 19 full-time teachers and experiment teachers, including 1 professor, 7 associate professors, and 1 British guest professor. It has a scientific research team with stable research directions, reasonable knowledge structure. Professor Ding Guofu, the dean of the department, is a doctoral supervisor, an outstanding expert with outstanding contributions in Sichuan Province, an academic and technical leader in Sichuan Province, and a winner of Education Ministry's New Century Excellent Talents Supporting Plan.

In terms of teaching, the Department of Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for the daily teaching of professional basic courses and specialized courses for Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation, and has been rated as an advanced group for scientific research and education.

In terms of scientific research, we attach great importance to major national strategic needs such as advanced rail transit equipment, aviation equipment, five-axis machine tools, and complex intelligent manufacturing systems. In the past 10 years, it has undertaken more than 30 national projects including the National Key Research and Development Program, the National Natural Science Foundation, the National Science and Technology Support Program, and the National High-tech R&D Program (863 Program), more than 10 provincial level projects, and more than 30 enterprise sponsored projects. It has more than 30 software copyrights, more than 20 invention patents and more than 400 academic papers. Meanwhile, it has achieved a series of scientific research results that won 6 national and provincial scientific and technological progress awards (1 First Class and 1 Second Class Prizes of The State Scientific and Technological Progress Award, and 4 First Class Prizes of Sichuan Scientific and Technological Progress Award), as well as 6 other provincial and first-level society awards. It has more than 30 software copyrights, more than 20 invention patents and more than 400 academic papers. The related research achievements have been applied to many large-scale manufacturing enterprises such as CRRC and Chengdu Aircraft Industrial (Group) Co., Ltd.

The institute has the right to grant master's and doctoral degrees, and the main research directions are:
